2009 Oct : Ed Dougherty, Ablaze Development Corp's President & CEO, to chair the 23rd Annual Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) Day at Villanova University to be held on November 5th, 2009. This years topic is Green Technology.

2009 Aug : Ablaze Development has been awarded a Phase I STTR contract by the Office of Naval Research for the development of lightweight compact structures that can be applied to protect vehicles from roadside blasts. The general approach will be to develop blast protection materials and structures that defocus and redirect the blast impulse so that the negative effects on the vehicle passengers and the vehicle itself are minimized. This will be accomplished with the aid of artificial intelligence, primarily in the form of genetic algorithms, to help refine the structures. The project will be conducted in conjunction with Villanova University and Jamie Hynemen, host of the Discovery Channel’s popular Mythbusters TV series.

2009 Jun : Ablaze establishes an agreement with Ablaze Solar Inc to help create a manufacturing facility within the Delaware County KIZ to produce a new generation of high efficiency, low cost super-lattice thin film solar cells.

2009 May : Ablaze selected to develop lightweight compact structures that can be applied to lightweight tactical vehicles such as the High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV) or Mine-Resistant Ambush Vehicle (MRAP) for roadside blast protection.

2009 Feb : Ablaze selected to manage the development of a compact, rugged, mobile Automated Identification Technology (AIT) integrated warehouse system for use in a Military deployed environment.
